DETROIT – General Motors announced to its dealers that it plans to introduce nine new or updated models in the next 12 months, including the Buick Enclave luxury crossover and GMC Acadia crossover SUV. The automaker also reported it plans to bring back the GMC Canyon mid-size pickup as an all-new model. GM plans to build this vehicle in Wentzville, Mo., and stated it will announce production dates later this year. The automaker hasn’t yet released other details about the all-new version of the Canyon.

“While we continue to make strong progress in fuel economy gains on our full-size trucks, we know that there is a group of customers who want the functionality of a truck but may not need full-size pickup,” said Tony DiSalle, vice president of Buick and GMC Marketing. “We believe that introducing a new, agile and efficient mid-size Canyon will meet the needs of many pickup buyers.”

Other vehicles that are part of the automaker’s lineup include the Buick Regal luxury sport sedan, Buick LaCrosse luxury sedan, GMC Sierra and Sierra HD full-size pickups, and the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL full-size SUVs. The remaining vehicles include the Verano luxury sedan, the GMC Terrain small SUV. The automaker also announced it will offer luxury Denali versions for four of its models and a 2.0L turbocharged version of the Verano.
