MARYSVILLE, OH – Honda announced that it has started production of its all-new 2013-MY Accord at the company’s manufacturing plant in Marysville, Ohio. For the 2013 model-year, the Accord features powertrain technologies from the automaker’s new “Earth Dreams” engine and transmission lineup.

The 2013 Accord Sedan and Coupe will feature all-new powertrains, including the first application in the U.S. of the new Earth Dreams 2.4L direct-injected four-cylinder engine. Honda will pair that engine with a six-speed manual transmission or the new company’s Continuously Variable Transmission. Honda also plans to offer a new 3.5L V-6 engine, paired with a new 6-speed automatic transmission or an available 6-speed manual transmission, for both models. The automaker hasn’t yet announced fuel-economy or performance figures for this new vehicle.

Other features on the all-new Accord include a new aerodynamic exterior and new safety technologies, including Honda’s LaneWatch blind-spot display, which enhances visibility of the passenger-side roadway, Lane Departure Warning, and Forward Collision Warning.

Standard technologies on the 2013-MY Accord is a rearview camera and Expanded View Driver's Mirror, the Bluetooth HandsFreeLink phone interface, the Multi-Information Display (i-MID), SMS text messaging function and Pandora Internet Radio interface.
