FAIRFIELD, CT - Clarence Nunn has been named Chief Commercial Officer of GE Capital Americas. He will remain in his current role as president and CEO of GE Capital Fleet Services until his fleet successor is named.

According to GE Capital Fleet Services, the move comes at a time of strength for fleet services, which is coming off of strong financial performance, the launch of new service offerings for customers, and the opening of the new Vehicle Innovation Center at its headquarters in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

Prior to his position with GE Fleet Services, Nunn was the chief commercial officer at GE Capital's Commercial Distribution Finance business in Chicago.

Since joining GE in 1992, Nunn has held key leadership roles in sales, marketing, product development, and quality within several GE businesses in the U.S. and Canada, including GE Plastics, GE Capital Canada Equipment Financing, GE Vendor Financial Services, and most recently GE Capital's Commercial Distribution Finance.

Nunn was born and raised in Los Angeles, Calif. He attended San Diego State University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and received his Master of Business Administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).

Nunn began his GE career in 1992 when he joined the sales team at Polymerland (GE distributor of thermoplastic resins) in Portland, Ore. In 1995, he joined GE Plastics as an account manager in Southern California and in 1996, was named the global media & data storage industry manager located in Pittsfield, Mass. In 1998, he was promoted to commercial director for the newly formed Specialty Products & Services business located in Selkirk, N.Y. In this role, he was awarded a U.S. patent for the method and system for selecting product colors.

From 1998 through 2001, Nunn held several roles of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing, product management and quality achieving Master Black Belt certification in 2001.

Joining the GE Financial Services Business' in 2002, he was promoted to senior vice president of sales and marketing at GE Capital Canada Equipment Financing located in Montreal. In 2004, Nunn joined GE Vendor Financial Services as vice president & general manager EFS - Diversified Flow located in Chicago. In 2005, he was promoted to chief marketing officer for the Commercial Distribution Finance business and was later named to his current position of chief commercial officer responsible for marketing, business development and the Imagination Breakthrough project, Dealer Solutions.

GE Capital Fleet Services has deep domain expertise in the fleet industry with many of its employees having more than two decades of direct experience in the fleet industry, and that expertise is staying with the business.

GE is deeply invested in fleet as evidenced by its strong track record in the industry, according to the company. Its most recent example is the opening of its Vehicle Innovation Center and the investments its making to enhance its customer-facing technologies and applications.
