Replacing wiper blades ranks behind only an oil and oil filter change among the most common vehicle repairs, according to new research conducted by IMR Inc.

The next most common repairs include replacing the air filter, scheduled maintenance, and new tires. Other top 10 repairs include battery replacement, brake work, adding antifreeze, engine tune-ups, and aligning and balancing wheels.

The findings were released by the Car Care Council.

"We thank IMR for sharing this important and informative data with the Car Care Council," said Rich White, the council's executive director. "With scheduled maintenance toward the top of the list, these findings are a sign that more motorists understand the importance of routine vehicle maintenance and are taking steps to ensure the safety and dependability of their vehicles."

The council advocates for the benefits of regular vehicle care, maintenance and repairs.
