Nissan is recalling 814 2017-model year Infiniti Q50 and Q50 Hybrid sedans because the driver-side frontal air bag inflators may have been improperly welded, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

During a crash that triggers air bag deployment, the inflator may crack and release the gas needed to properly deploy the air bag, NHTSA said. Nissan dealers will replace the driver-side air bag inflator, free of charge.

The recall is expected to begin Oct. 30. Vehicle owners can reach Infiniti customer service at (800) 662-6200, option 7.
