Mercedes-Benz will bring a new generation of its plug-in hybrid S-Class sedan to the U.S. market in the middle of 2019. The automaker debuted the sedan at the Frankfurt International Auto Show earlier this month.

The 2019 S560e will arrive with an onboard 7.2-kilowatt charger that will enable 25 miles of electric driving. The vehicle's powertrain should produce 362 horsepower by pairing a V-6 engine with a 90-kilowatt electric motor, according to Mercedes-Benz.

A new lithium-ion battery increases capacity to 13.5 kilowatts per hour. Power is delivered through a 9G-Tronic nine-speed transmission.
