Porsche is recalling 51,497 Macan, Macan S, Macan Turbo and Macan GTS crossover vehicles because of potential fuel leaks that create a fire risk, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The recall covers 2015- to 2017-model year Macan S and Macan Turbo vehicles, as well as 2017-MY Macan, Macan GTS, and Macan Turbo vehicles with the Performance Package. The fuel pump flange in these cars may crack, allowing fuel to leak, NHTSA said.

Porsche dealers will inspect the flanges, replacing any that are cracked. Flanges that aren't fractured will have a protective film applied. Dealers will perform these repairs free of charge.

Car owners can reach Porsche customer service at (800) 767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is AH06.
