Subaru of America’s national commercial fleet manager Ron Lasman has announced that he is retiring from the company on March 3.

In his role with Subaru, Lasman is responsible for expanding and servicing the national commercial fleet customer base. The 46-year veteran works out of Cherry Hill, N.J. and has been with the company since June 2002.

Lasman previously served as the director of fleet services at Mediq, Inc. for eight years before the company merged with Hill-Rom in 2004. He also served as a fleet manager for Sears Cleaning Services from 1980 to 1988.

“At Mediq, I was one of the first fleets to use Subaru, so I was somewhat familiar with the company when I started work there,” said Lasman. “However, I never realized the focus and priority safety took in our organization, and was very impressed. I’m sure that is one of the reasons we’ve been so successful in fleet, as well as retail.”

Prior to joining Subaru of America, Lasman had brief stint working as an eastern regional fleet manager for Danone Waters of North America where he worked out of Southeastern Pennsylvania. He has also worked at ARI as a supervisor for customer services.

In the mid-1970s, Lasman worked at Rollins Auto Leasing as an account executive where he developed company business for the New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland territory.

His career in the automotive industry began in 1970 when he served as an intern for a small leasing company in Jenkintown, Pa., which is where he was first introduced to the fleet industry.
