Subaru's 2017 Impreza will enter a new generation with a $100 price increase as a more fuel-efficient compact sedan with additional driver-assiting technologies.

The base Impreza 2.0i with the continuously variable transmission (CVT) will offer an EPA-rated 38 mpg highway, an improvement over the 36 mpg highway of the outgoing model.

Subaru will offer four Impreza models, including the 2.0i Premium starting at $22,215, 2.0i Sport at $22,815, and 2.0i Limited at $24,915. The Impreza is available in a sedan or hatchback body style with a optional  5-speed manual transmission.

The 2017 Impreza will be built on Subaru's new Global Platform that improves safety and driving dynamics, according to the automaker.
