Hyundai will offer Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on all of its 2017 model year vehicles as well as several earlier models, Hyundai has announced.

Hyundai will also install the smartphone integration platforms on the 2015 Azera and four 2016 models, including the Sonata Hybrid, Sonata Plug-In Hybrid, Azera, and Veloster.

Owners of these models can take their vehicles to a Hyundai dealership where the software update can be installed for a fee or download the update from MyHyundai.com. Eligible vehicles must be equipped with navigation.

The 2017 Santa Fe and Santa Fe Sport will be the first vehicles to arrive from the factory with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other 2017 models with Display Audio or Navigation systems will include both platforms.

To complete the software upgrade, owners need their VIN number and the SD card from their Navigation system. MyHyundai.com has installation guides to walk customers through the process. The software update can be downloaded in up to three hours and added to the vehicle in about 40 minutes.
