Volkswagen Group of America is recalling 5,658 2016 model-year CC, Golf R, Tiguan, and e-Golf vehicles because vehicle vibrations — caused by such things as opening and closing the doors — might disengage the rear child door locks.

To resolve the problem, dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the child lock. There will be no charge for this service, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

The CC vehicles were manufactured from Jan. 12 through Feb. 3 of this year. The Golf R and Tiguan vehicles were manufactured from Nov. 25, 2015, to Jan. 28, 2016. The e-Golf vehicles were built Nov. 25, 2015, to Jan. 11, 2016.

Vehicle owners can reach Volkswagen customer service at (800) 893-5298. Volkswagen’s number for this recall is 58C9.
