Mitsubishi Motors has developed a plug-in hybrid large SUV concept that generates 335 hp and provides all-wheel drive, the company announced at the Chicago Auto Show.

The GC-PHEV is powered by a supercharged V-6 engine and electric motor paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and the company's Super All-Wheel Control feature.

The vehicle's more rugged styling is a precursor of what's to come from Mitsubishi, which is using similar design principles to revamp its Outlander mid-size SUV for the 2016 model year.

The GC-PHEV includes a technology feature called the "Tactical Table" that allows passengers to place their smartphone on the table to share information with other passengers in the vehicle.
