Volkswagen Group of America is recalling 393 2015 model-year Volkswagen Jetta and Passat sedans because of faulty front seatback recliners, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.

The seatback recliner retaining bracket may not engage correctly, resulting in unexpected movement of the seatback. This could distract the driver, posing a safety risk, NHTSA said.

However, Volkswagen said, no accidents or injuries related to the issue have been reported.

The vehicles were manufactured from Sept. 23, 2014, to Oct. 9 of this year. They are equipped with manual front seatback recliners.

To resolve the problem, dealers will inspect the assembly of the seatback recliner retaining bracket and make repairs if necessary. There will be no charge for this service.

Vehicle owners can reach Volkswagen customer service at (800) 893-5298. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 72F1.
