The 2016 Jaguar XE compact luxury sports sedan should deliver 75 mpg based in testing in Europe because of the intensive aluminum used during construction, the automaker announced.

Lightweight aluminum comprises 75 percent of the vehicle's structure using a modular architecture. The Jaguar XJ, XK and F-Type have also been developed using stiff bonded and riveted aluminum structures.

The vehicle will be unveiled in London on Sept. 8.
