General Motors is recalling 50,571 2013 model-year Cadillac SRX SUVs because they may have a three- to four-second lag in acceleration as a result of the transmission control module (TCM) programming, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.

The recall covers vehicles manufactured from May 29, 2012, through June 26, 2013, and equipped with a 3.6L engine. To remedy the problem, GM dealers will reprogram the transmission control module, free of charge.

Vehicle owners can reach Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. General Motors' number for this recall is 14132.
