Kia Motors Corp. is recalling 11,961 2014 model-year Kia Sportage compact SUVs so that dealers can correct the tire pressure information printed on the certification label, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

The current labels list a tire pressure specification that’s 1 or 2 psi below the correct pressure level. This misinformation is out of compliance with federal safety standards, NHTSA said.

Vehicle owners will also receive a sticker they can affix to their owner’s manual. There will be no charges for both corrected labels.

The recall, set to begin in mid-February, affects Sportage vehicles manufactured Sept. 30, 2013 through Jan. 11, 2014. Kia’s recall campaign number is SC103.

Vehicle owners can reach Kia at 1-800-333-4542.
