Subaru's redesigned 2015 Legacy mid-size sedan arrived at the Chicago Auto Show this week with a fresh look to better compete with the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.

Subaru teased the vehicle at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, bringing its Legacy Concept to Southern California.

The 2015 Legacy comes with a choice of a four-cylinder or six-cylinder Boxer engine with Lineartronic CVT (continuously variable transmission) and all-wheel drive. The automaker predicts fuel economy for the four at 26 miles per gallon city, 36 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined, and for the six at 20 mpg city, 28 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined. Subaru has improved fuel economy on the six-cylinder model by 10 percent.

The four-cylinder will be offered with the 2015 Legacy 2.5i and generates 175 horsepower, a slight increase over the 2014 model. The 2015 Legacy with the 3.6L six-cylinder produces 256 hp.

The 2015 Legacy will arrive at U.S. dealerships during the summer.
