Lincoln introduced its all-new 2015 MKC compact SUV Wednesday in New York, as part of the brand's reinvention with four new vehicles by 2016.

The Lincoln MKC, which will go on sale in the spring, follows the revamped 2013 Lincoln MKZ sedan.

Described as a vehicle for "small premium utility customers," the MKC will arrive with an optional new 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 275 horsepower and 300 lb.-ft. of torque. MKC comes standard with a 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 240 hp.

The vehicle comes standard with front-wheel drive with all-wheel drive optional. It carries a starting retail price of $33,900.

The MKC follows a string of announcements in the growing compact SUV segment. Mercedes-Benz will debut its 2015 GLA 250 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Porsche is readying its 2014 Macan crossover. And Lexus teased its LF-NX concept in Tokyo.
