Dutch-based LeasePlan Corporation N.V. will expand its operations into Canada in January under a partnership with a Canadian fleet management company, LeasePlan announced today.

LeasePlan and Canadian fleet management company Foss National Leasing Ltd. (FNL) entered into a licensing agreement allowing FNL to operate the newly formed subsidiary, LeasePlan Canada.

Jeff Hartley has been named president of LeasePlan Canada.

"LeasePlan has a proven track record of expanding into new markets and growing to market-leading positions," said Karen Foss, FNL's CEO, in a statement. "LeasePlan Canada will provide innovative products, value for money, and superior service to meet the needs of multinational clients, especially those with a presence across North America."

The new subsidiary expands LeasePlan's North American operations, which now include LeasePlan USA and LeasePlan Mexico. The company now manages more than 1.3 million vehicles and provides fleet management services in 31 countries.

"LeasePlan has a diverse portfolio of global accounts," said Jon Toups, chief sales and marketing officer for LeasePlan USA, in a statement.
