The 2014 E250 BlueTEC sedan from Mercedes-Benz has can get up to an EPA-rated 45 mpg highway, and 28 city, according to the automaker. This is the first diesel E-Class available with 4MATIC, and when equipped with the optional 4MATIC all-wheel drive, fuel economy is 42 mpg highway, 27 city.

The 2014 E250 BlueTEC sedan is powered by an all-aluminum, inline four-cylinder engine capable of producing 195 hp and 369 lb.-ft. of torque. To meet exhaust regulations, the BlueTEC system uses AdBlue injection (for selective catalytic reduction, or SCR), which is accessible through the fuel filler door.

MSRP for the rear-wheel drive version of the E250 BlueTEC sedan is $51,400, which is the lowest price in the E-Class range, according to Mercedes.
