General Motors is investing $167 million in its Spring Hill, Tenn., assembly plant where the automaker said this investment will go to support two future mid-size vehicle programs.

Out of the $167 million, $40 million are going toward one program and the remaining $127 million are going toward the second. This investment brings the total planned investment to $350 million for the new vehicles to be built there. GM said it will reveal more about the vehicles planned for the plant at a later date and has not officially announced them yet.

The automaker noted it began building the Chevrolet Equinox at the site in the third quarter of 2012 to meet consumer demand and support GM’s operations in Canada.
