Dave Funston, national fleet operations manager for Mazda North America Operations.

Mazda North American Operations announced that David Funston has joined the company as its national fleet operations manager.

According to Mazda, Funston has more than 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, having worked with OEMs such as General Motors with its Chevrolet brand, Hyundai, and Isuzu in the areas of service, warranty, business management, consumer affairs, distribution, and port operations. He also has more than 15 years of experience in the areas of fleet sales and remarketing.

Mazda said Funston most recently owned and operated a private firm where he used his knowledge of the fleet and remarketing industries to offer consulting services to auto dealers and senior management at Coda Automotive, Glovis, Hyundai, Kia, and GM’s Saturn brand. He also worked in auto retail sales at various foreign and domestic auto dealerships in Southern California.

Funston has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Southern California, Mazda stated.

Funston replaces Denise Husak, the former national fleet operations manager for Mazda.
