Charles Bowen has been retired from the transportation industry since Sept. 15, 2011. His career in the industry spanned from 1972 to 2011 and included 20 years in corporate fleet management. He was named Professional Fleet Manager of the Year in 1993.
Bowen initially worked in accounting and finance for five years before moving into the automobile business via sales. In 1981, he bagan a dealership fleet sales department and was fleet manager for four years before being promoted to general sales manager.
Bowen joined Georgia-Pacific in 1987 as manager of automotive fleet services, and later joined Rollins Inc. as director of fleet from 1997 to 2008. Bowen left Rollins in Nov. 2008 and started an independent transportation consulting firm in Atlanta called TransCon Global.
