Common fleet colors of white and silver dominate the list of popular exterior paint colors for pickup trucks in 2017, according to a new survey.

White trucks now account for 30% of available vehicles, while gray and silver trucks account for 25% of vehicles. Black trucks account for 23% of vehicles, according to Performance Truck Products, citing data available on Cars.com.

The next most popular colors were red (12%) and blue (7%). gold, brown, and beige trucks account for 3% of available trucks. Orange, yellow, and green were the least popular and account for less than 1% of sales.

"While there's a lot of data about the most popular paint colors for vehicles overall, there's not a lot of data out there for common truck paint colors," said Nate Dwyer, director at Performance Truck Products. "We decided to fix that, and we found that business-friendly truck paint colors dominated the rankings."

Spork Marketing performed the survey by searching new truck listings on Cars.com. No data was scraped and no automation was implemented, according to the company.
