Chevrolet is updating its Sonic subcompact car for 2017 with sportier styling and infotainment options such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, General Motors has announced.

The 2017 Sonic will deliver its new connectivity technologies via a 7-inch color touchscreen. The Sonic will also include a new MyLink system. The car will also support 4G LTE with a Wi-Fi hotspot.

The 2017 Sonic goes on sale this fall in LS, LT and Premier trims on sedan models. The hatchback returns exclusively in RS guise, offered in LT and Premier trims. An RS package is also available on the sedan.

The Sonic is powered by a turbocharged 1.8L four-cylinder that makes 138 hp that's mated to a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission.
