Ford is introducing two new trim levels for its 50th anniversary Mustang to honor the 1960s heritage of the iconic vehicle.

For the 2016 model year, Ford will offer the California Special Package and Pony Package trim levels that were popular in the 1960s. Ford will also offer several other new options, including new stripes and wheels so owners can futher customize the vehicle.

The California Special Package for Mustang GT Premium will be available this fall. The Pony Package will be available for Mustang EcoBoost Premium by year's end.

Ford is adding turn signal indicators located in hood vents – a heritage cue from the 1967 Ford Mustang – as standard equipment for 2016 Ford Mustang GT, which will also get the available Performance Package.
