Subaru to Move Headquarters to Camden

Subaru of America is planning to relocate it headquarters to Camden, N.J., from its current location in the tony suburb of Cherry Hill six miles to the west.

Subaru has submitted an application to the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA) to develop a location that would double the size of the current headquarters with a footprint of 250,000 square feet, Subaru has announced.

The new site, which is now owned by the Campbell Soup Co., is located in the Campbell Gateway District. The new campus would house more than 500 employees in divisions including sales, marketing, service, and administration.

Subaru hopes to move into the new facility by late 2016 or early 2017. The automaker has been negotiating with developer Brandywine Realty Trust and concluded an internal cost approval process. The company's executives must still grant final approval, a move expected by April.
