General Motors is adding a third shift to its Wentzville, Mo., assembly plant to meet demand for the new Chevrolet Colorado and GMC mid-size pickups, as well as the Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana full-size vans.

Dealers have ordered nearly 30,000 Colorado trucks, GM announced.

The additional third shift would add 750 new jobs to the assembly plant and would begin in early 2015. GM has previously announced it would add 1,315 new jobs to the plant to produce the new pickup trucks.
