William J. Flemming, a former fleet manager for PECO, died April 27, at his home. He was 53.

Flemming died of natural causes, according to his death certificate. Flemming had been a heart patient.

He started his career with PECO (then Philadelphia Electric Co.) in 1981, rising to the position of fleet manager. After 29 years at Peco, he was hired in 2010 by Asplundh Tree Expert Co. as director of the utility-line construction and maintenance fleet. In addition, Flemming volunteered as chairman of the board for the Greater Philadelphia Clean Cities Program.
