Audi Could Use 90% Dual-Clutch Gearboxes in Future, R8 V-12 TDI Not Dead Yet

HERNDON, VA – Citing reasons of fuel efficiency and performance, head of Powertrain Development for the Volkswagen Group Wolfgang Hatz estimated the vast majority of future production will feature dual-clutch transmissions, according to http://wot.motortrend.com.

Hatz also confirmed that a possible production version of the Audi R8 V-12 TDI, which made its debut at the Detroit auto show, isn’t dead in the water yet, although a final decision has yet to be made.
