NASHIVILLE, TN – Japanese magazine CarTop is speculating that Infiniti could be developing a new range-topping sedan based on the 2009 Nissan GT-R. Allegedly, the sedan could go on sale as early as 2011.

According to CarTop, the 2011 Infiniti GT-R would use a stretched version of the GT-R’s chassis, complete with its AWD system, a tuned version of the 3.8L twin-turbo V-6 producing nearly 500 HP, and share the same Xtronic CVT. Pricing would be about 20 percent higher, bringing the sedan in at around $85,000 on this side of the Pacific, according to http://jalopnik.com.
