DAMASCUS, MD – While available in 42 states only, the Mercedes 2009 ML320 CDI, with its even cleaner Bluetec technology, will meet the requirements of all 50 states, according to marketwatch.com. In the ML, the turbocharged 3.0L diesel produced 215-horsepower at 3,800 rpm, with a zero-to-60 time of about eight seconds.

The EPA rates the diesel at 18 to 24 miles per gallon compared to 15 to 20 mpg on the gasoline-powered six.

According to www.marketwatch.com’s test, “The ML has a lot going for it in the form of good handling and performance, a beautiful interior (sans the outdated wood), and excellent comfort for four (not the five as advertised). It is very quiet on the highway and has the ability to go off-road with buttons (of course) that will raise the ride height of the vehicle and help it down steep mountain ranges. However, since 9 out of 10 owners will not take a $60,000 vehicle off road, we did not. The ML was solid and well built, and should snag its share of well-heeled buyers. We would opt for the base gas-model for about $44,000 and get all of the neat things we like about the ML without the needless complexity.”
