AUBURN HILLS, MI – Audi of America Inc. said its U.S. sales rose 0.3 percent in January, helped by the performance of the redesigned TT sports car and a pair of new models, according to the Web site www.Forbes.com.

Audi said total sales rose to 6,418 vehicles during the month, from 6,399 vehicles during the same period a year earlier.

Much of the sales growth was driven by new models. The company sold 342 of its new A5 coupe and 61 of the R8 sports car. Sales of the recently redesigned TT surged, to 326 vehicles from 10 a year ago.

Sales of the A4, Audi's most popular model, fell 8.6 percent to 2,618 cars from 2,865 previously.
