GENEVA — Infiniti announced the coming-out party for the highly anticipated 2009 Infiniti FX will be presided over by Nissan President and CEO Carlos Ghosn on March 4. The upscale Nissan brand noted that this is the first time a new Infiniti has been revealed outside the U.S., underscoring the brand's global aspirations.

"The V8-powered Infiniti FX will be revealed away from the motor show on the night of Tuesday 4th March," the automaker said in a statement. Lightly disguised spy photos of the new Infiniti FX have been making the rounds. The second-generation FX is expected to get a larger 3.7L V-6. That vehicle has been dubbed FX37. The Geneva-bound V-8 model, the FX55, is expected to get a 5.5L V-8. The restyled FX is expected to be evolutionary in terms of exterior design as opposed to groundbreaking.
