PHH Arval has kicked off its annual series of fleet management symposia in Canada with an event in Ontario that welcomed more than 130 attendees to the Country Heritage Park in Milton.

"The PHH Arval symposium series offers immense value to industry colleagues, including prospects, clients and supplier partners," said Pat Furgiuele, senior vice president and general manager of PHH Canada. "Sessions are tailored to feature the latest trends in the fleet marketplace and this year we're thrilled to unveil three new technology products, Clarus, Clarus Driver, and PHH Xplore the latest solutions to drive our customers' business forward."

The symposium provided a variety of discussions that included an overview by Furgiuele on how PHH and its clients can continue to prepare for the future of fleet operations; a business update by Jim Halliday, president of PHH Arval; and a panel discussion PHH clients and experts addressed the topic of telematics and how PHH Onboard has assisted in achieving goals and realizing cost savings.

The event's keynote speaker was Jack Armstrong, sportscaster for the Toronto Raptors on TSN and NBA TV Canada. Armstrong shared communications tips, lessons learned through teamwork, and the impact of positive leadership.

The Outdoor Automotive Fair offered more than 100 vehicles for a ride-and-drive, a truck and upfitting exhibit, and a safety workshop where participants analyzed the anatomy of an accident and how that could impact their fleet.

PHH also conducted a separate session with pharmaceutical fleet professionals on June 10. The annual pharmaceutical symposium provides fleet managers an opportunity to share best practices and discuss issues and trends unique to their industry.

The next symposium is set for the fall in Calgary, Alberta.
