Australian Miner Uses Fleet Management System for Better Automation

The Meandu coal mine has begun using the Wenco Fleet Management System as part of a wider push of automation.

The system works by adding a GPS unit onto the mining equipment and vehicles to control speed and direction of automated equipment and identify haul roads and intersections for trucks.

The system helps trucks navicate slopes and traffic at the mine, reports Mining Australia.
