Volvo's Threat Detection Tech With a 360-Degree View
As part of the Non-Hit Car and Truck project, Volvo and its research partners have developed a cohesive threat-detection system employing a number of discrete sensors installed around the car. A centralized sensor fusion framework allows different systems -- camera, radar, lidar, GPS, etc. -- to share information efficiently. The collision-avoidance technology constantly analyzes threats around the car and identifies collision-free escape routes in different traffic scenarios.
