Aptiv, an automated driving technology firm, is partnering with Lyft to offer self-driving car rides during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas from Jan. 9 to Jan. 12.

The CES rides, available to more than 20 destinations throughout Las Vegas, will demonstrate Aptiv’s automated driving platform and Lyft’s smart dispatching technology, according to Aptiv. Lyft passengers can request an autonomous vehicle ride from the Las Vegas Convention Center’s Gold Lot.

Before each ride, passengers will move through an informative exhibit to learn more about autonomous vehicle benefits. Additionally, a host in the driver’s seat will contribute to the educational experience during the ride, Aptiv said.

“This partnership represents a real-life application of scalable, automated driving technology that will have a significant impact on improving safety, emissions and urban congestion challenges,” said Kevin Clark, Aptiv’s president and CEO.

Aptiv acquisition nuTonomy recently launched an automated driving pilot with Lyft in Boston.
