Subaru of America is recalling 2,367 2018 Crosstrek compact SUVs because the driver's floor mat might interfere with the accelerator or brake pedal operation, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

In these vehicles, an incorrect floor mat retention bracket may allow the floor mat to move out of position, permitting interference with the accelerator or brake pedal, NHTSA said.

Dealers will inspect each floor mat retention bracket and replace it if necessary. There will be no charge for this service.

The recall is already under way. Vehicle owners can reach Subaru customer service at (856) 488-8500. Subaru’s number for this recall is WTR-77.
