BMW of North America is recalling 7,810 2016-2017 model-year Mini Clubman cars because the side curtain air bags may not inflate properly in the event of a crash, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

BMW dealers will modify the driver and passenger side curtain air bag covers, free of charge, to fix the problem. The recall is expected to begin Sept. 12.

Car owners can reach BMW customer service at (800) 525-7417 or email BMW at [email protected].
