Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling 2015 model-year ML250, ML350, ML350 4Matic, ML400 4Matic, and ML63 AMG vehicles, as well as 2016-MY GLE450 AMG 4Matic vehicles, because their right rear seat belt anchor bolts may have been installed incorrectly.

The SUVs under recall, which total 423, were manufactured from April 27 through May 19 in 2015, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

“In the event of a vehicle crash, the right rear seatbelt anchor bolt could fail to secure the passenger, increasing their risk of injury,” NHTSA said on its website.

Mercedes-Benz dealers will inspect and, if necessary, correct the installation of the anchor bolt at issue. There will be no charge for this service.

The recall starts this month. Vehicle owners can reach MBUSA customer service at (800) 367-6372.
