Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and General Motors are recalling 48,512 tires installed on 2015 model-year Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia vehicles, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.

The Fortera HL P255/65R18 109S tires, manufactured from Nov. 30, 2014, to Jan. 10 of this year, showed signs of tread cracking during recent endurance testing. As a result, they fail to meet all federal safety standards, NHTSA said.

GM dealers will replace the recalled tires installed as original equipment, free of charge. Goodyear will switch out the recalled tires installed as replacement equipment, also free of charge.

Vehicle owners can reach Buick at (800) 521-7300, Chevrolet at (800) 222-1020, or GMC at (800) 462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 15025/15067. Owners of replacement equipment tires can contact Goodyear at (800) 592-3267.
