Terex, a leading equipment and vehicle provider for utility and construction fleets, is recalling 84 2014 model-year Light Tower AL5 work platforms to address a fire risk, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.

The recall covers platforms manufactured from Oct. 16, 2013, to June 11 of this year. A lack of structural support for the lower section of the 60-gallon fuel tank could cause the tank to become deformed and contact the trailer axle, NHTSA said. This condition increases the risk of fire.

To address the issue, Terex dealers will add structural support to the lower part of the fuel tank. There will be no charge for this service.

The recall is expected to begin Dec. 18, with the structural support remedy becoming available starting Dec. 29, NHTSA said.

Owners can reach Terex customer service at (800) 536-1800. Terex's number for this recall is SN 140016.
