Honda is recalling 1,252 2015 model-year Crosstour vehicles because of potential defects in the side curtain air bags, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.

The recall affects Crosstour four-cylinder, front-wheel-drive V-6 and four-wheel-drive V-6 models. Dealers will replace one or both of the side curtain air bags, free of charge.

The inflator tube for the side curtain air bag may have been manufactured incorrectly, NHTSA said. As a result, they may not inflate properly during a crash.

“This issue is not related to other recent actions involving frontal airbag inflators,” Honda said in a released statement. “No crashes or injuries have been reported related to the issue, which was discovered through quality analysis at the inflator tube supplier.”

Vehicle owners will be notified of the recall by mail in late January.
