Chrysler Group is recalling 313,236 2011-2013 model-year Jeep Wranglers because of a potential fire risk linked to outside mirrors, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.

Corrosion in the exterior heated power mirror electrical connector may result in an electrical short, posing a fire risk, NHTSA said. The recall covers Wranglers manufactured from Feb. 16, 2010, to July 19, 2013.

Chrysler dealers will move the exterior mirror power feed to a separate connector, free of charge, to remedy the problem.

The recall is expected to begin Dec. 5. Vehicle owners can reach Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is P61.
