General Motors is recalling 132,921 2013-2015 model-year Cadillac XTS sedans and 2014-2015-MY Chevrolet Impala sedans to address a fire risk.

In these vehicles, the electronic parking brake piston actuation arm may not fully retract. This condition could cause the brake pads to stay partially engaged with the rotors, resulting in excessive brake heat that poses the fire risk, reports the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The Cadillac XTS vehicles were manufactured from Feb. 14, 2012, to Aug. 22 of this year. The Chevrolet Impala vehicles were manufactured from Jan. 15, 2013, to Aug. 22 of this year.

GM dealers will update the electronic parking brake software, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin this month.

Vehicle owners can reach Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is 14471.
