Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing is recalling 7,067 2014 model-year Highlander SUVs because of a potential problem with the third-row, middle seat belt assembly.

The seat belt assembly might not have been properly secured to the vehicle floor anchorage during vehicle assembly, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

The recall, expected to get under way this month, affects Highlander SUVs manufactured from Nov. 20, 2013, through Jan. 18, 2014.

Toyota dealers will inspect the third-row, middle seat belt anchor and, if necessary, properly secure it to the vehicle floor anchorage. There will be no charge for this service.

Highlander owners can reach Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.
