Chrysler Group LLC is recalling 4,051 2013 model-year Dodge Challenger vehicles because of a potential fire risk. The positive battery cable at the starter motor may experience an electrical short circuit to ground, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

The vehicles covered by the recall were all manufactured from Dec. 3, 2012, through Jan. 24, 2013 and are equipped with a V6 engine.

Chrysler advises owners to immediately refrain from driving the vehicle and to contact their Dodge dealer. The vehicles should not be parked in or near any structures.

Dealers will replace the under-hood starter cable assembly, free of charge. The recall notification began on March 20.

Owners can reach Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753.
