Chrysler Group is recalling 1,785 2013 model-year Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger vehicles because they may have a gas tank with a broken control valve in the fuel tank assembly, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.

A broken control valve in the fuel tank assembly may lead to an engine stall or fuel leakage, posing a safety threat. The vehicles covered in this safety recall were all manufactured from October 30, 2012, through November 2, 2012.

Chrysler dealers will inspect the fuel tank assembly and replace any affected control valves. There will be no charge for this service. The recall is expected to begin in March.

Owners can reach Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753.
