ARLINGTON, VA – During new safety testing involving small overlap frontal crashes by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the organization found that mid-size family cars outperformed the luxury models tested.

Of the models IIHS tested, two mid-size cars earned the top rating of “good,” 11 earned the “acceptable” rating, three earned “marginal,” and two earned a rating of “poor.” Out of the luxury models, three earned ratings of “good” or “acceptable.”
